The Carnivore Within

Welcome to Raw Feeding!

If you’ve found yourself here, it looks like you have entered in to the dark side (just kidding, it means you are ready for some positive changes!). In all honesty, if you ended up here, it means you are taking the first step into raw feeding: educating yourself. Knowledge is absolutely power. Some words of advice: relax. You will continue to learn over time until raw feeding quickly becomes second nature (and let’s face it…you can NEVER stop learning). It is a lot to soak in so just remember to keep calm. All we are doing is feeding real food and balancing it over time (just like feeding ourselves…although the dietary needs for a dog are a lot different!).
Over the past few years I have worked with a handful of dog owners to help them learn how to feed a raw diet. Some were at their wits end with ongoing challenges and some were just ready to do what was in the best interest of their canine companion. Without a shadow of a doubt I truly believe feeding fresh, whole, REAL foods is an ideal diet and absolutely better than feeding a processed diet day in and day out (canine or human).

For some background, I have been raw feeding since 2015 (which is pretty new in the raw feeding world!). Inspired by my breeder, Mary Lynn Jensen, PhD., of Woodwynd Dalmatians, I decided I wanted to start educating myself. I was so impressed with her knowledge in so many areas regarding canine health and wellness I was immediately hooked. My Dalmatian, Settler, has been raw fed since as early as Mary Lynn can put puppies on real food! I can honestly say he has never had to eat a bowl of kibble in his life. And he’s not just alive…he’s thriving.
In 2018 I went on to do coursework on raw diets and received my Certificate of Completion in Raw & Natural Nutrition.
